Elysium

On the surface, Elysium is an action SF flick starring Matt Damon but the flick is more than that as it centers on a dark future, driven by climate change, greed and inequality of a most pernicious kind.

The film takes place on both a ravaged Earth, and a luxurious space habitat (Stanford torus design, one of the proposed NASA designs) called Elysium.[5] The film itself offers deliberate social commentary which explores political and sociological themes such as immigration, overpopulation, transhumanism, health care, worker exploitation, the justice system, and social class issues.[6]

Says it all IMHO.
