The ghost in the machine/rev II



AI resides everywhere, running beyond the control of man due to real time requirements, now steps into the drone era with a elegant system able to be folded into a soldier's back pack without issue, equipped with sophisticated cameras, and ... at a later date, smart weapons configured as needs warrant.


Luckey says the drones can carry a range of payloads, including systems capable of jamming enemy communications or an infrared laser to direct weapons at a target. In theory the drone could be fitted with its own weapons. “It would be possible,” he says. “But nobody’s done it yet.”
