Chain Mail

We've heard a lot about wearable computers and the like but for all the hype, existing design concepts center on pockets and wires woven into fabric to enable systems to be plugged in in ad hoc fashion. What if, instead of hybrids, the fabric itself is the connect with wearble computers directly linked to it? Enter Chain Mail smart fabric, the brain child of researchers Jonathan Engel and Chang Liu from the universiy of Illinois http://www.physorg.com/news91448338.html/
Not only is it wearable, the fabric itself bends along two axies, thus allowing it to drape over curved services wrinkle free.
Sounds like a smooth operator to me.
