A guilty pleasure

A guilty pleasure ... seeing the very stable genius screwing up something yet again, a something not needing to be American blue but rather needing a tune up to have it work in concert with the Potomac and it's environment because the Reflecting Pool sits on top of mud so flexing is part of the equation along with the need of using two sources of water to naturally fend off the "killer" bacteria instead of using nanobubbles and hydrogen peroxide at 12% concentration, a solution used for paint stripping because when used in water, it kills frogs and ducks that happen to get in it's way while Trump continues to flail away in a vain attempt to make the Reflecting Pool truly American Blue. :)

So long, metaphor. We had a good run. Goodbye, “All the world’s a stage.” Farewell, “She’s a brick house.” See you later, the swamp (drained or undrained). Now we have a symbolic black hole in the middle of Washington, D.C., that is pulling all other symbols into its orbit and devouring them, one by one.

I am, of course, talking about the Reflecting Pool. That is what everyone is talking about, even and especially the president. Nothing is ever going to top it except, of course, the thin green coat of algae that Greenwater Solutions—seems nominally determinative, in a bad way—is trying to spritz with nanobubbles. (“It’s magic!” the man operating the hose assured me yesterday when I walked by.)

The Reflecting Pool is a metaphor so perfect, it feels almost valedictory, as though symbolism as a whole gave up and decided to sign off. On its way out, it killed a duck.

The card was given to children at theaters where a Three Stooges film was playing. The bearer of the card had a chance to win a Three Stooges movie viewer at the theater. The card also promoted a giveaway from Pillsbury Farina. The grocer would give a movie viewer to anyone buying two packages of Pillsbury Farina.
